Daniela Hantuchova wins Pacific Life Open at Indian Wells

Daniela Hantuchova, the 23-year-old Slovakian, beat Russia's Svetlana Kuznetsova, 6-3, 6-4, at Indian Wells to win the Pacific Life Open Tennis tournament. Hantuchova made a splash here five years ago when she beat Martina Hingis to win the Pacific Life Open. However, after that Hantuchova did not win any other titles and her performances weakened over the years.

Hantuchova is back and seems to be totally in control of her game. After this win, her ranking has gone up to No. 12. Hantuchova's ranking had touched No. 5 in 2005 when she won the Pacific Life Open the first time. Hantuchova is now headed to Miami for the Sony Ericsson tournament. It would be interesting to see if Hantuchova can build on this win this time around.
